Happy Monday everyone, this weekend I had a little time to paint and unwind. As usual, I painted flowers, the more I do, the more I love them. There's something about them that just bring me joy. Maybe its because they are and they where part of every special moment in my life. I don't know, I just know that I love them.
Browsing in the internet, I found Cicely Mary Barker, and Artist and Illustrator that was most known for her Fairy Flowers series. Most of the books she illustrated and wrote, where children books. I read she used her sister's kindergarden children's as models, and draw them with flowers. She even made the costume with wings.
I see this illustrated pictures, and just imagine her, drawing in her table, water colors in one side, and a jar full of flowers on the other. She painted the flowers with the exact botanical characteristics. It must have been the perfect environment, that Cicely was one lucky girl, painting flowers all day, dreaming of fairies and all things wonderful.
