I did Public Art in Florida

Last month I was invited to create public art by the City of Mulberry.  It was an amazing experience to say the least. The Abstract House (as I called the mural) is located at the Public Recreation Park and the artwork was inspired by one of my pieces that showed in my Solo Show and was the favorite among the kids.

I wanted to paint something colorful so kids were attracted to it. In the process of making it, a group of awsome kids got involved and helped me paint.  It was the must rewarding experience ever.

I painted the mural with rollers, brushes and spray paint, you can say I did mix media on a wall, and now I'm obssed with it!!!  I cant wait to do public art in the near future.

Missing Puerto Rico

This couple of days I've been homesick, wishing I was back in my island of Puerto Rico, with all the people I love, with Caribbean Sea touching my feet and the breeze of the mountains caressing my curls.  A recent study says the true number of deaths is beyond what was expected and could range from nearly 800 to close to 8,500 people, the researchers’ calculations showed.  The midpoint of that statistical window is the widely reported figure of 4,645 deaths.  This is very far away for the 64 deaths reported by the government of Puerto Rico.

There was a demonstration and installation at the front of El Capitolio in Sn Juan, reflecting those number and deaths.  It was powerful and sad.  So many questions and emotions of sadness and frustration.

Let us not forget them and continue to fight for Puerto Rico.
